Founder's Story

I didn't start Nurae
to build a brand.
I started it to get my life back.

Migraines have always been part of my family. My mother gets them. My sister gets them. Growing up, I understood what it meant to watch someone disappear into a dark room and wait. It was just something we lived with. Quietly, without question.

As a child, I had them too. But they were manageable. Background noise. As I got older and life got busier, more responsibility, more stress, more pressure, something shifted. My first aura migraine hit me like nothing I had ever experienced before. The visual disturbance came first. Half my vision, gone. Then the pain. Then hours of lying still in a dark room, waiting for it to pass.

"It wasn't just the pain. It was the moment I realised I couldn't trust my own body anymore."

I went to my doctor. Then again. Then again. Every time, I left with anti-inflammatory medication that eased the pain but never touched the root of what was happening. I became dependent on those pills. And after months of taking them regularly, I started to feel their impact on my gut. My body was telling me something had to change.

So I started digging. I changed my diet. I fixed my sleep. I reduced caffeine. I learned about triggers: light, stress, hormones, food. Things improved slightly. But the migraines kept coming. Two or three a week at my worst. I was cancelling plans, calling in sick, living in a constant low-level state of dread about when the next one would appear.

"The anxiety of anticipating a migraine became almost worse than the migraine itself."

Then one evening, deep in a Reddit thread about chronic migraines, someone suggested I get my nutrient levels checked. It seemed almost too simple. But I did it. The results came back and the answer was right there: a significant magnesium deficiency. It made sense. My light sensitivity had become so severe I was avoiding the sun entirely, which had also depleted my Vitamin D.

My doctor prescribed magnesium and told me about two other ingredients with strong research behind them for migraine sufferers: Riboflavin (Vitamin B2), studied for its role in brain energy metabolism, and Feverfew Extract, traditionally used to support vascular balance. I followed a 12-week protocol taking all three consistently, alongside the lifestyle changes I had already made.

Around week eight, something remarkable happened. I stopped thinking about migraines. Not because I was ignoring them. But because they had stopped being the background noise of my life. I went from weekly episodes to once every two or three months. The dread lifted. I started making plans without an escape route. I booked trips. I said yes to things.

I shared my story in migraine communities and the response was overwhelming. So many people had been through the same cycle. Medication that treated symptoms, never causes. Deficiencies that went unchecked for years. A life quietly shrinking around an unpredictable condition.

That's when I decided to do something about it. I worked with a laboratory to create a single, clean formula combining Riboflavin, Magnesium Glycinate, and Feverfew Extract in a daily gummy that was easy to take and actually enjoyable. No complicated stacks. No prescription required. Just the three ingredients that changed things for me, in one place.

And the little ghost mascot you see on every bottle? That's not random. That soft, calm, weightless figure represents exactly how I feel now. Free from the anxiety of anticipating the next episode. Light. Present. Finally able to just live.

That feeling is what Nurae is built for. I hope it gives you the same thing it gave me.
